  2.                       "DIGITAL XTC CD-ROM"
  3.  
  4. Welcome to DIGITAL XTC'S CD-ROM.  This CD-ROM provides "Digital Seduction"
  5. CD-Rom viewers with video of unequaled quality and pleasure. 
  6. This CD-Rom plays to PC/AT's with high color display
  7. cards or standard VGA display cards that are supported with a VESA 
  8. driver.

  10.            INSTALLATION FILE FOR DIGITAL XTC CD-ROMS!
  11.  
  12. To configure your PC with Expanded Memory, make sure your Config.sys
  13. file has the following:
  14.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  15.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 2048 FRAME=e000 RAM
  16. If you use QEMM: 
  17.     DEVICE=C:\QEMM\QEMM386.SYS RAM
  18.         (Instead of HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE)
  19. If you are using any other type of memory manager you must look in 
  20. your manual for the appropriate line to be added to your Config.Sys.
  21.  
  22. 1.  Insert the Digital XTC CD into your CD-ROM drive
  23.  
  24. 2.  Access your CD-ROM drive [e.g. E: F: <enter>]
  25.  
  26. 3.  At the prompt for the system, type "INSTALL D C <enter>". 
  27.     This Example is if your D drive is a CD-Rom drive and you wish 
  28.     to install the Dirtectory to the C Drive. Follow Instructions.
  29.     [e.g. D E <enter>] - Do not use a colon after the CD-ROM 
  30.     drive letter 
  31.  
  32. 4.  Once installation is finished a D_XTC directory will be 
  33.     created on the Hard drive. 
  34.  
  35. 5.  To start "Digital Seduction" go to the D_XTC directory on your Hard 
  36.     Drive and type "GO" <enter>.
  37.  
  38. 6.) If you do not have the DOS directory in your path you may get
  39.     a bad command when you run the install -
  40.         - The files that need to be copied are:
  41.         - TMMPLAY.EXE & .GXL
  42.         - ?.GFT
  43.         - TESTAUD.EXE
  44.         - TEST.WAV
  45.         - THE GO.BAT FILE FROM THE ?PLAY DIR. 
  46.                 - CD-ROM = D - GO TO DPLAY DIR; ETC..

  49. 7.)If your Hard drive is something other than the "C" drive - run 
  50.    the install as noted, with one exception:
  51.     Example: INSTALL F D
  52.         THIS IS FOR A CD-ROM OF F AND HARD DRIVE OF D
  53.         * ONCE THE INSTALL IS FINISHED YOU MUST EDIT THE 
  54.           GO.BAT FILE - 
  55.             CLS
  56.             @ ECHO OFF
  57.             SET TMMLIB=D:\D_XTC
  58.             TMMPLAY F:\OPEN.TMM
  59.  
  60.         YOU MUST EDIT THE TMMLIB=?:\D_XTC LINE *
  61.  
  62. 8.) The Audio test program is run by typing TESTAUD TEST.WAV
  63.     This will configure the TMMPLAY to run with your Audio Card.

  72.     Your video card needs to be VESA compliant.  Most cards 
  73.     require drivers loaded as TSRs during boot.  If you do 
  74.     not have one of these drivers, please contact the card 
  75.     manufacturer.

  77.     Common questions and problems:
  78.  
  79.     1.) The image is very poor - few colors and bad resolution.
  80.       
  81.       You have a non-VESA card or the VESA driver is not 
  82.       loaded when running the program.  Add the driver to 
  83.       your Autoexec.Bat
  84.

  87.     RECOMMENDED COMPUTER CONFIGURATION IS AS FOLLOWS:
  88.  
  89.   - 386-20/486-33 Mhz.
  90.   - Supported 15 bit high color VGA adapter. 
  91.   - MPC compatible CD-ROM drive (minimum throughput of 150
  92.   - Kilobytes per second) for proper video playback.
  93.   - Microsoft or compatible mouse.
  94.   - VGA monitor compatible with video adapter and/or VESA driver.
  95.   - 640 KB base memory (540 KB base memory free.) 
  96.   - 2 megabytes EXPANDED memory.
  97.   - 540K OF CONVENTIONAL MEMORY
  98.   - DOS 3.3 or higher.

  100. NOTE: If the CD-ROM drive letter is changed after installing
  101. this disk, you will need to run the installation again.
  102.  
  103. NOTE: If the CD-ROM does not run with your Video Card you may
  104. need to add the appropriate VESA drivers for your system.
  105.  
  106. TERMS: The software and files on this CD-ROM have no guarantee 
  107. of any type whatsoever.  By purchasing this CD, the user agrees 
  108. that DIGITAL XTC will not be held liable for any damages, 
  109. including lost profits, savings, or any other incidental or 
  110. consequential damages arising out of the use or the presence 
  111. of any program, or the inability to use this program or any of 
  112. the programs from this CD, even if DIGITAL XTC has been notified 
  113. of the possibilty of such damages, or for any claims by any 
  114. other party. Our only warranty is limited to this actual CD-ROM: 
  115. It is deemed to be free from physical defects for 30 days from date 
  116. of purchase. If it's defective, DIGITAL XTC will replace it with 
  117. the same type for 30 days.
